CHARLIE STRASSER — Founder
Strasser started his career in sports medicine. He was the head athletic trainer for both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Dodgers, and assisted with the San Diego Chargers during baseball's off season. His expertise has made him an in-demand speaker worldwide on sports medicine. After retiring from professional sports, he founded CBCU in 2007.
Charmo started umpiring in 1988 with SBUA and then TASO (High School Baseball) for 31 years. Was President of the Houston TASO Chapter for 20 plus years. Was one of the founding members of the Scholarship Foundation that is still on going. Our foundation has granted over $750,000 to our student athletes and that is something we are very proud of. Still actively working Rice and U of H non conference games, Junior College baseball and have been associated with the following conferences in the past, SWAC, WAC, Sun Belt and Southland.
Ellis has umpired for over 30 years. He began umpiring in Houston in 2005 (TASO) and has assigned baseball umpires for 15 years. Assigned umpires in the Baytown, Texas area, from Little League all the way to High School Level. Worked UIL State Tourney in 2015 and 2016. Has been a High School teacher and coach since 1991 and is currently a teacher/coach in the Houston area..
